My jeep is idling weird when i start it, it over revs to like 1,500( standard idling is about 800), and when i start it it goes ok, but when i come to a stop sign or a red light and dont press the gas, the RPM goes way down to like 400 or even 200, and it almost dies, so i have to give it some gas,
all i know is that it cannot be the fuel pump, since i got a new one last year, im guessing maybe transmission, or spark plug problem,
let me know, i need this jeep to work, *banghead*

It sounds like the "choke" is stuck on....Do you notice that it smells rich and theres black residue around the tailpipe?

Theres a sensor that tells the computer that the engine is cold when you first start the car, which in turn richens the mixture and raises the idle. This is great in winter, but once an engine is running and warmed up, it could cause your car to stall or drop RPM at idle if it stays "on"...

Check the engine codes. Check the sensor out.

It could be your TPS, but I don't think its possible for it to go down to 200 rpm without another problem.

It could also be your stepper motor (ISC) depending on how yours functions.
