i was wondering , a lil while back , i tested the compression on my h22 (car was at normal operating temp) and i got back numbers between 185-195 . initially i found these numbers sorta low and was thinking the h22 should be in the 210 range but now i really aint sure .

i searched the net but all the answers i got back were unreliable , so can any1 tell me what the numbers should be, prefebly factual numbers .

and if the numbers were a bit low , what are my possibility's , can i just change the rings? do i need to resurface the cylinder or possibly both?

anyways i would apreciate any help , thanks !

The important thing is that compression is the same in all cylinders.
If you have 195/210 its good *tu*

wow, no comment about above

all i have to say is that before doing a rebuild because your compression test reads lower, do a leakdown test

but how do you know how accurate your guage is compared to the next guy? the actual numbers shouldnt mean anything to you in comparison to another engine

my reason for concerne is this , opening day at nappi last year my best time was 15 flat i was on 17's that were heavy and was having slight problems with my tranny (couldnt get it into 2nd or 3rd sometimes). but i musta done 15 runs b4 i blew out my cv joint and outta 15-16 runs i managed i managed at least 2 flawless runs and yet a almost stock lude was there and ran a 14.8.

i mean something is definatly wrong unless i wasnt driving the car properly?
