Recherche Mercury capri 1979-1986

Bon voila ma situation,

je viens de m'acheter "de l'ouvrage". Cé un Mercury Capri 86 avec un 5.0 injection, manuel, etc même chose qu'un mustang sauf le body(86 etait la dernière anné de production pour la capri). Cé l'ancienne voiture de mon père et la première voiture dans laquelle je suis embarqué(j'ai le même age qu'elle).

J'ai toujours rêvé dans ravoir une et l'été passé, mon rêve se réalisa

Mon problème, c'est que tout la carroserie est rouillée; toit, ailles, portes, plancher(percé a fond la caisse...)... Pour ce qui est du groupe motopropulseur, tout est top-shape.

J'aimerais avoir votre avis a savoir ou je pourrais en trouver une qui serait potable. Je suis allé faire quelques cours a scrap, mais elles sont toutes comme la mienne.

I just bought a 86 Mercury Capri with a 5.0 fuel injected, standard...

My father bought the capri in 1986 and one day he sold it. I've always dreamed to get it back and now it's done.

But the body is in real bad shape. Heavy rust everywhere but engine, tranny and differential are still running strong.

Body; really bad
Mechanical: really good

I would like to know where can I find a capri with a good body. I would like to keep my engine, trans and diff(only 150 000km on it) and swap those into another body.

Going to be VERY hard to do that as that is the last year they made them and usually the best body wise. The few nice ones out there are usually complete nice cars that people are selling for alot. I have not seen a nice Capri body in awhile other than the few low mileage ones here and there. They are alot harder to restore than a Mustang since the parts are harder to find and alot more $$ if you do find them. I can keep my eyes open..but they are pretty slim out there. Is your repairbale? It is going to cost you ALOT either way you do it and there is not much sense in it since it will not be "the" car that your father had if you change it over to a different body. If it was me...if you cannot find a good body..just use that for parts and buy another one.
