George at GTA did mine on my old VR6... I was very happy with the results. I forget how much he charged me though :dunno:

Had mine done at Marcil in Longueuil two years ago. Costed me $100

But I don't think he does small job like this anymore.

you gotta pay to play
got mines lightened it should be an excellent performer

you don't have to overpay to play.
11lbs is too much IMO, then again i'm referring to a dual mass 02a

the point of a lightened flywheel is to reduce the weight of the rotating assembly, noticeably beneficial when heel and toeing, increasing response

in other words you gotta know how to drive to be able to exploit the benefits

the downside: added vibration/chopiness of the motor
the flywheel is there to dampen the intermittent energy of the cylinders into a nice smooth purr, simply doing so by pure mass. lightening it, transmits more vibrations theoretically, but in real life, our dubs rattle so much anyways, it's hard to notice :p

whoever is paying 250$ + just got owned, maybe with the removal and installation of the tranny/flywheel it would be an excellent price

as far as i know, all there is to it, is facing the flywheel in a lathe's 3jaw chuck to desired weight, and then statically balancing it, 1hr work MAX for beginner machinist

i saw a vr6 flywheel that weighs 5.5lbs
is this possible by simply machining it? or do you have to treat the flywheel after

typo, guaranteed
probably 15.5, that's how much i would lighten mine to for the dual mass

vr6-g60-1.8T all weight 22lbs or so stock IIRC

there is simply hardly any material left at 5lbs...
