I would also like to know why tokico arent good, as im also looking for shocks and one of my options being tokico illuminas

i have experience with billstein w/ neuspeed race (or sport) - your "cheaper" option and H&R coilovers - your "expensive" option :) recommend both either setup depending on your budget

koni and bilstein are more recommended on vw's, which are heavier than japanese cars

tokicos are best for lighter cars, they were not designed specifically for a vw
vws are not their speciality, and they don't sell a lot for euro applications

That's a super retarded answer.

Tokico will design their shocks appropriately for the weight of the car. It's not like they're using Honda shocks for their VW line up. So NO it's not because they're made for lighter cars. Koni is japanese too BTW. You're answer is flawed... *byewhore*

The reason why people don't recommend Tokico's is because they're not as good as other products available on the market, like Koni or Bilstein.

retarded answer???

Why then do tockico work so well with civcs and all little japanese cars and handle so-so on Vws and other euro's???? Koni, bilstein are PROVEN to work better whith volkwagens and its not a secret for anyone. Tockico are from japan and were first intended for japanese cars. They did not tune there shocks so well for euro applications simply because they don't sell a lot for those applications. Euro cars are just not their speciality. DOT

And Koni is from holland Mr retarded

Don't try to quote me in ridiculous way like you did

So I made a mistake about Koni's origin but it still doesn't mean your answer isn't retarded. You're still comparing 600$ shocks to 900$+ shocks obviously the ride quality will be different. Basically anything cheap will be cheap. Look at Boge's for example, they blow quite often, around same price range as the Tockico's. You get what you paid for.

Are you gona say that european cars must ride on european tires and not japanese tires too?

I did not say that, but tockico have some really good shocks on other applications

And when I bough my Koni's they cost me 700$ + taxes, so the price isn't that different
of course Bilsteins are a lot better

Anyway I think you're the one with the retarded answers,

If it helps, I think you're both retarded!

If you buy Tokico shocks, just make sure you keep your bill and boxes if need for warrenty. I sell quite a bit tokico shocks at the counter, not to many returns but make sure you installed them correctly. I've seen some shocks where people clamp vise-grips on the shaft on mess up the seals, Tokico will not warrenty it. Like I said just make sure you have a bill and you should be fine.
