That's it. *byewhore*

Engine's done. *banghead* *banghead* *banghead*

Today, got back home safe, strange sound from the engine... A "Valve Sound"... No worries...

Until I start it again.... A BIG BIG "Engine Sound" ... But LOUD. Clakclakclakclakclakclakclakc and the car shakes ALOT.

I turned it off and here we are...

Viva la garantia. :p

I've got the "VW Assured" warranty, bumper to bumper until Nov 2005 or 93,000KM.

Ho well..................................................................................

*** UPDATE ***

UPDATE.

Car got to Rimar VW.

Engine's okay.

A spark plug literally came off of it's placeholder. The head is okay, they said, So, 90$ later... they re-taped the whole and they torked a new spark plug to 22lb-ft. And they did the work without my approval.

BUT....

They now tell me it's not under warranty, but for no reasons, although I have the VW Assured Warranty that still apply to the car and the car has been certified by VW Centre-ville. They claim they can't de responsible for it and to pay and go to VW Centre-ville and claim it to them. VW Canada has a different story on that : "No matter where the VW Assured Certification was done, VW Canada is responsible for warranty work and the dealer should never tell a customer to "go back" to some other place.

The case in now handled by VW Canada Customer Service.

**** UPDATE 2 ****

No way out. Not covered.

RIMAR HAS THE WORST SERVICE EVER - VW SUCKS

Nah, I'm really soft on it, really....

Syntec oil... Changes on schedule, everything.

probably a defect from volks . how do you know the engine is blown without opening it ? maybe it isn't bad at all ...
can be your timing belt (chain?) that broke and just messed up all of the engine ?
oil pressure drop that stoped lubing main/rod bearings?
Im sure it isnt that bad

While all of this is true.... The sound it makes would make anyone refer to it as a blown engine.

It may not be THAT bad.

But the car shakes so much, it remember me a Swedish Cheerleaders Team getting an orgasm (from me) all at the same time..... :D

How did you manage to blow a stock 2.0 Eric? :p

I really, really don't know. I agree VW needs to learn for the reliability of the electric system but I always heard that the engines where really stong... And this is what I always thought, until this day... LOL...

Not even "old" ... 78,000km - Year 2000.

Out of luck, I guess.

how about we make a bet on what happened ?
im in for a oil pressure drop caused by something blocking oil passages *tu*

Mmmm...

Bet would be interesting. With the sound it makes, I have absolutely NO CLUE of what it can be, I'm telling you, IT'S LOUD and shakes like hell. LOL

That sounds almost exactly like when my 2.0L head blew... Driving around with a light show going on in my cluster trying to reach the dealership while the car sounded like a cold 440 engine.

thank goodness for bumper to bumper coverage!

if you go to the dealer to get the engine changed, try to get your original back so that you can inspect it or work on it or just sell it.

you can't do that if a part is changed under warrenty.
