I'm done with VW. CAR FOR SALE! *byewhore*
SAD, RALLY SAD, but true.
After being a dubber for 10 years, GAME OVER. *td*
Long story short:
Bought that 2000 VW at 53,000 with ethe xtended VW ASSURED warranty (They call it ASSURED, because... You can rest ASSURED you WILL PAY.....) :squintfin
Almost no problems with the car itself *tu* , but with VW SERVICE. *td*
Twice I went to RIMAR VW (Closest to home) and they have charged me for what I assumed should be COVERED by the VW ASSURED Warranty. But NO!!!! Twice I had to pay.
It's not the matter of money, like if I care... It's the principle that you buy an extended warranty to a reason : PEACE OF MIND.
EVENT #1
Noise when turning right, above 20km/h and releasing the clutch. a REAL LOUD NOISE that makes ppl in the car say, "You hear that? What was that?"
- Get the car to RIMAR VW
- Get a call back saying the car is ready.
- I get there, surprise... An invoice for me... Like 70$ or so.
- I ask WHY?
- They say... The car has NO problem. No noise, NOTHING. and that I can't expect VW to pay for a problem my car doesn't have.
- I tell the advisor to send a mech. with me to hear it.
- He said. NO TIME. GO HOME. CAR IS OKAY. PAY THE BILL TO GET YOUR "WARRANTIED" CAR BACK
What service was that?????? This is NOT HOW YOU TREAT YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS
Being VERY busy, I said screw it, I'll bring it somewhere else sometimes....
EVENT #2 - This week.
- "Engine noise" - Loud enough.....
- Towed car to RIMAR VW - Closest one, again.
- They find the problem
- A Spark Plug has literraly been ejected from the head - Not "fallen down" - EJECTED.
- They had to tap the head to be able to screw another spark plug in, because the hole was thorn.
- New spark plug! WOW!
- NOT COVERED - I understand a Spark Plug can't be covered for NORMAL USE, but GEE.... How many time have you seen a spark plug being EJECTED??? This is NOT NORMAL.
- Last time Spark Plug where touched it was at de stealership.
Now, remeber that the car is 100% covered like if it was brand new by the VW ASSURED (Remember... ASSURED THAT YOU WILL PAY.)
And again... I UNDERSTAND SPARK PLUGS NOT BEING COVERED and I never asked them to cover something that was not. But the problem here is not just the spark plug it is the fact that something REALLY REALLY not normal happened.... It is the fact that it was EJECTED for some reason... I don't mind paying for the spark plug (10$...) but I'm angry at VW for saying : "YOUR FAULT - NOT COVERED"
To top it off, they say... You know, you car has 78,000 KMs on it... GUESS WHAT DUMBASS : THIS IS WHY I BOUGH THE VW ASSURED (THAT YOU WILL PAY)..
I repeat that this is *NOT* your typical spark plug problem.
So I'm going to pick up the car today and pay for the work done........
RIMAR SUCKS. ----> They really make you feel LIKE SHIT. NO RESPECT WHATSOEVER.
Am I ridiculous???
Am I asking too much???
What would you have done???
