All right, that's it, I definitely f*cking hate VW -Update on post 40-
So here's the deal, as many of you guys know (Duberman, VR666, JAVW, etc), I had a shit load of issues on my 97 B4 Passat TDI. Last summer, I spent quite a bit of $$ on it, but for things that you regularly need to change: water pipe, FK shocks, brakes (brembo), ball joints. Furthermore, I decided to add a chip (unitronic), plus I had to change 3 out of 4 windows winders (that shit cost me 700$). Bottom line, the bill was quite high, but the car was running well, so I decided it was worth it to invest that kind of money. But I was expecting the car to be trouble free for a while... I should've known better...
About a month ago, I had problems related to a broken engine mount, the engine mount itself literally broke. To make a short stoy, it also broke part of the starter casing (which was fixed by the garage where I spend most of my free time, thanks to them NADiesel in Valleyfield, Yvan is the best) for a bottom price of around 900$ (which includes work done by Jérémie and by NADiesel). I can't even remember all the work that was done, I would have to check my bills.
Not even a week after, while taking the exit to Vaudreuil, car dies once again. No big deal, I bring it to Vaudreuil VW since I'm right besides. The problem is just a switch (35$), but I then learn that the alternator is dead and that the wiring to the alternator itself needs to be done, result of the broken engine mount that f*cked everything up.
Over yet? I f*cking wish...
While coming back from Brossard Saturday night, I feel the engine ''turning'' wrong, alimentation or something, but difficult to say. However, I know I might have big problems again since I passed a whole gallon of prestone in the past week, but see no apparent leak whatsoever... you know what it is...
So I dump the car at NADiesel this morning and give them a shout this afternoon to see what's up. My verdict was good, head gasket probably needs to be f*cking done. HOWEVER, yes, once again, there might be worst. Apparently, I was rolling on 3 cylinders, which I didn't suspect at all, maybe because of the chip. So the compression needs to be checked. If it's good, I'll be up for ''only'' a head gasket job. If not, I better start trying to find a f*cking TDI engine because there is no way I will let the car go with all the money I spent on it. Plus, since I spent so much money recently on that f*cking piece of crap, part of my savings that I can ''touch'' without being penalized are simply gone.
I understand that I have a high milleage car (380000km), but both the previous owner and I took good car of it. It's just not f*cking normal to have so many problems. I really feel like puking & crying at the same time.
So now I am waiting to see if the compression is good, which I hope. If not, can anyone hook me up with a decent milleage TDI engine? And how much does a swap runs for?
Sorry for the long read, but this is the story of my life. And believe me, this is the last f*cking VW I'll ever buy. And I'm dead serious. and sorry for the long read...
