Damn it!!! I was heading for the alps, when a few incoming cars flashed me with their high-beams, indicating a cop trap. I slowed down to speed limit behind another car.
True enough, around the cornes were a couple of cops already busy with another speed bike on the shoulder.
I decided to abandon the trip, since there were probably a lot more in the mountains and turned around.
On my way back, those two a-holes flagged me down, for what I assumed was a license check. They tell me I was going too fast. 91km in an 80 zone.
There was no limit to my amazement. They told me that since their radar has a +/- 5km tolerance, I could have been going 16km over the limit, to which I reponded that I could have also been going 6km over the limit.
They said it didn't matter since I was over the limit at any rate and they would have ticketed me for 1km over. What a bunch of pig sodomizers.
They said it was for my safety they were pulling me over. Now that left me bamboozled. So, under their definition of safety I should have been riding head down, staring at my speedo, completly ignoring the car in front of me.
Even If I was riding A LOT under the limit, the cars behind me would have been forced to overtake me (which is customary in Switzerland) on the incoming lane, which is arguably creating a more dangerous situation.
In the end, I got a 160CDN ticket, which I intend to contest.
