vtec ecu???P2P??

i'm not sure what is in my car. I have an SI 99 with a SI 00 v tec motor in it but it's not working. I'm just not sure if my ecu is the right one, one that can control the vtec. it's a P2P and with the research i've done, the SI coupe ecu should be a P2T. P2P is for an EX EK civic with (vtec or not, i'm not sure).

I just wanna know if my ecu can control vtec cause at this time the vtec doesn't engage.

I have the same issue
I installed a 99-00 sir engine in my 97 civic and My vtec doesn't work
I got it working by just putting a switch to the Vtec selenoid and engaging it just by flipping the switch, but for what I have heard everyone is saying thats its my distributor caus eI got my distributor from my SOHC Vtec engine on that one cause the wirering was not caompatible with the 99-00 engine so the solution they gave me is to buy a used 99-00 distributor empty my 97 and put it in the 99-00 distributor.. but I have my dougs that that will work or not
