Buying in Ontario

I have some questions regarding buying a bike in Ontario. I know someone who is selling their bike in Ontario and i'm looking to purchase it. Now, if i bought it there i'm sure i would have to go to the DMV to transfer over ownership and pay one tax etc etc in Ontario...now, i want to keep my Ontario plates and only pay registration in Ontario which is much cheaper then in Quebec. My brother-in-law lives in Ontario so i could have an Ontario address but of course my license is a Quebec license and my insurance company would also be a Quebec based company. Would there be any problems riding on a bike with Ontario license plates even though i drive around with a Quebec license and would a Quebec insurance company cover me? Is there any other problems i can encounter doing this?

I have a friend who tried that and he needed to have a Ontario pocket license for that he needed an address in ontario and proof of residence *banghead* if you bring it to Quebec it will need an inspection before getting a plate.

so what i can do is buy the bike in Ontario from this guy, go to the DMV in Ontario to change over ownership and then i have to bring it back into Quebec and get it inspected at the SAAQ and have it registered? Do i pay the one tax in Ontario ONLY? Or will they charge me the taxes 2 times, once in Ontario and once in Quebec?
