Hitting animals on a bike

Sorry for the newbie questions but how bad is it if you run over a groundhog or something on the highway? Can you retain control easily? Has anyone done this?

first depending on the speed your going and second ... counter steering

A guy I know hit a Moose once....he didn't regain control :laugh:
It really depends on alot of factors if you regain control or not . But keep this in mind . There are those who fell and those who are gonna fall :bigup:

try to avoid it the more you can!

hitting a dog like a labrador(just for an example of the size): i don't hink you're gonna stay on 2 wheel!
But something like a cat shouldn't give any problem :|

some guy that I know hit a racoon once he didnt regain control depends I hear a lot of crap like if you hit a rock or a stone youre finish I call bullshit

there is a vid out there of a bike with a tank cam...he hits a deer...hard

We are two out of three who hitted a 12 or 16 foot 2x3 in the road back in may. We were maybe going ~50km (maybe slower), fortunatly, it was at the end of a 180 turn in Saint-Lambert on a ramp on the 132, we stopped and threw the 2x3 on the grass, nobody lost control but I guess hitting at 100km+ is another story

As for the rock/stone comment, that is bullshit, I've hit those "speedbumps" on the 40 by st-charles and all sorts of bumps on the highway on one wheel, sscary, but u dont lose control

l'important, c'Est que la marmotte rentre pas dans le mag, parce que rendu a la fourche, un siffleu ca éclate pas, c'est élastique pas mal...
j'te laisse deviné la suite.. !

J'ai justement ramasse un morceau de bambi qui venait de se faire lutter sur la 329 ce soir.
J'ai pas trop essayer d'eviter, j'aime mieux passer en ligne droite t'as moins de chances de glisser. Parcontre ya des morceaux qui ont revolle sur mes headers jpense bin... ca sentait le steak lol

jai deja frapper un chat a 100 km, jai eu peur sur le coup, mais je me suis rendu compte que un chat ca mesure 7-8 pouces mais une fois que tu lui ecrase les pattes un peu cest pas plus haut que 2-3 pouces...donc ca rien fait...dans une courbe ca serais différent.

et jai deja frapper un raton laveur a 100km avec un YSR, les mini moto de yamaha, un raton cest 8-10 pouces de haut et une fois les pattes plier cest encore 7 pouces de haut, les roues de ca sont tres petites et la moto a fais 2-3 metre sans toucher a terre mais jai pas tomber, ca prend de la chance rendu la.

donc un chien en moto ont oublie ca!
