I had a close look at my tire yesterday and saw on the walls of the tire there was many places along the tire cracked... wanted to know if you guys also have that.

the tire is due to be changed soon, but it could stil last this season...

it could be because of the heat/dryness.
anyone has a clue ???

Cracked? can you take a picture to show us?

The only time I saw something like that was someone riding with race compound on the street and the tire were damage because they were not driven hard enough.

tire are too old and rubber tend to crack!

I don't know how you can tell :
but it could stil last this season

Damm I'm at my 3rd rear tire and second in front!

The "crack" mean: that the rubber have "dryed out" and lost it's properties!
so it can wear out faster or slower, grip as much as lego block, etc, etc!!

I wouldn't trust a dryed out tire!

you just have the surface of a shoes size 10 that give you grip on the road: please keep em in shape!!

use the new Pilot power, they are the best tires i have used..ever. They are super sticky, warm up fast and wear less than the pilot sports. They are a much, much better tire. They also feature a 50 degree lean angle! The only thing that I had a roblem with was when puching really hard the from would move around a bit (squirm) but i had not adjusted my suspension with these tires.

Russian_M3 : don't put a 190 on a zx-6r!

the bike have been designed to ride a 180 it's not for nothing!

190 tire tend to make the bike eavier to turn, which IMO is a bad thing!

don't fall in the bling bling thing! it's a bike, not a damm cage!

the previous owner put a 190 on it ! ... dont i need to change the mag if i want to put a 180 ?

No,

ZX6-r are supposed to came stock with a 180!(you can ask your tire seller he's gonna give you the info)

if he put a 190 it's because he prefer the more bulky look of the 190 but doesn't care much about the manoeuvrability!

190 tire on rim that are designed to have a 180 fit well, but 180 tire are the one to install on them!

in fact the 180 will have a better fit than the 190, the 190 will be deformed because the bike's made for 180.

Top Moto on Atwater is having a sale on their tires.
Bridgestone BT014 $134
Michelin Pilot Something $154 (Regular price $280)But i dont think they have it in 180. U can call them to check.

faut etre prudent avec les "super deal" des dealer!

parfois il te passe de vieux pneu qui date de plusieurs mois ds le back store!

just installed my tire at suzuki laval

michelin power. spoke with a couple mechanics and the service department guy... they all said that no difference between 180 or 190 on a 600cc performance/manoeuvrability. the only difference is the look , so i decided to stay with the 190 since i got like that already , besides i feel its more stable on curves compare to my previous bike wich had 180.

well a friend(Chaos here on MR) has a 190 stock on his 929RR and he prefer the 180 feeling!

IMO a 190 on a 600 is just wrong :!

That's one cracker ass garage then *frustrate your tire is 2mm away from your chain and if it's so much more stable why didn't kawa slap on a 190 tire on there to begin with!
