I'm going for it on thurs. I need to know what they are looking for. From what I remember from the shcool its jsut not to put your right foot down, make 3 second stops, look right left then right before accelerating, indicate, do the speed limit and obey basic traffic laws. What else is there and how long is it?

its left, right and left :D

and

Always check blind spots (Stop signs, starting, parking, stop lights, etc)
- Merge onto the highway at 100kph. No less. Ride as close to the max speed limit as possible
- Ride in the left 3/4 of the lane until you hit a stop sign or stop light where you move into the center of the lane.
- Don't run a yellow (obvious)
- Parking sequence (???): signal, line up, check blind spot, move back, touch sidewalk with rear tire diagonally, stand.
- left foot down when stopping, should be in first gear already.
_when stopped always pull the brake, the light should always be on
_Make sure you are always in first gears when waiting at a stop or light and make sure that your right foot is on the rear brake until you leave
_Remember to press the brake lever lightly when you use the engine to slow down. Just so the brake lights come on.

-be in the propre lane position
-follow the speed limite +/- 5km/h (if you go to slow he will take off points as well)
-check mirror, blind spot, flasher, blind spot again real fast just to loook like a mighty champ!

Light up a joint, mount and pound your girl friend the night before, you won't be as nervous the day of your exam!

don't be scared to ask him questions, he'll explain before the exam no problem!
you'll be going on the highway and the parking is simple just park diagonally like all the bikes do when there lined up down town!

good luck

Always keep your head moving left right checking your blind spots even if your not turning.....

And if your taking your exam in Montreal ...HenriBourassa....if its a woman make sure you keep your legs close to the tank ....WEIRD *tu*

yes you go on the highway, it takes around 1h total.

My instructor told me that in laval they usually go either to varennes or Oka.

Etienne

I went to Laval and the exam took about 35 minutes.

Varennes is FAR from Laval ! I don't know where you got that info. But I never went there ! Actually I didn't go very far... :dunno:

At my exam, basically I merged onto the highway for about 30 seconds and exit right away. I'm pretty sure the length of the exam depends on your confidence riding a bike. If the instructor notices that you have no problem handling the bike, he won't make you stay for a long time on the road.

Also, you'll go in 30 km/h zones. Beware of that. It's rough on a bike but you have to keep riding at the speed limit.

Last tip, never engage in an intersection (when you have to turn) before you are sure you can go through it. My friend failed last year because he was past the white stop line (waiting to turn at the intersection) and the light turned red. Automatic failure :(

Good luck !

Always keep your head moving left right checking your even if your not turning.....
*tu* *tu* *tu*

Make sure he really sees your head moving before you cross an intersection or even an entrance of a mall....that way, he knows your careful.... *tu*

if you make any mistake like.....turning left instead of the dude telling you to turn right, keep on going...dont make any fast movement, just keep on riding!(he'll tell you to change back). Then you'll take your time to to do the R-A-C-R-A *french

Good luck.

Do they ask for the registration and insurance papers of the bike? I need to know this.

Yes they do !!

And they check if your bike is fully conform to go on the road (Mudflap in the back, chain guard, visible and adequate flashers, both brakes functional-at least the lights, as for exhaust I don't know but I think they don't check)

I passed no prob with only a few minor infractions. I was using my dad's Yamaha V-Star 1000 lol. It was a beast.
