engine's making a winding sound???

i have a 1999 civic coupe Si and after 4500rpm it starts making a winding sound.

it never made that sound before at least i dont think so...

any comments will be helpful.

did you installed a new headunit?? bad installation?

did you installed a p-flow?? vtec sound?
 
the cars completely stock...the only thing i did different is put in 5W50 synthetic oil and put 91 octane gas in it thats it thats all.
 
by winding you mean ''fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff'' from the motor??

maybe your exhaust manifold or your exhaust (downpipe or right before/right after the cat)

more like it sounds like i have a turbo, yet i dont.
my buddy was with me and he said whatever it was sounded awesome but im a lil worried it could be one of my belts or alternator.

j'ai pas de vtec!

C'est surement une fuite d'air a quelque part...

moi sa commencer a faire sa appret avoir fait arranger de koi dans le boute du throttle body

yavait un selenoid qui marchais pas...

J'avais un check engine light ---> mais c pas dangereux... c le system anti pollution...

il me lon arranger au garage...

You have found the vibrating freequancy of somthing under the hood..
I would look at the t-belt pullys.
Maybe your alternator also.
 
it only does it when there is little or no throttle, clutch has to be up for me to hear it

on acceleration i have no problem like i even beat a 3.2 tl the other day going up a hill though
 
stick with 5w30. We dont live in Texas here. Its not over 40 degrees everyday around here.
 
moi aussi ca fait ca....pis mon ami qui a une civic comme moi aussi héhé...faudrais jlui demande si y la arrangé (si oui c'étais quoi...) quand j'accelere rendu a genre 4000rpm ca commence a siller! pis non jai pas de vtec moi fak c sur c pas ca!!!
 
i have to be in gear 4 the noise to happen, if i rev my car there is no problem

except for the neighboor complaining bout my pipe :)
but the car was sitting in this guys driveway for about 3 months

supposedly i do live in texas.... at least thats wut evryone says in lasalle :dunno:
 
Tu es p-e assi sur une baloune qui dégonfle et quand tu est a 4500 rpm la pression de ton cul dessu la fait fuire un peut ? Tk j'espert que j'ai pu t'aidé :p :D :eek:
