What are the best mods for an Acura RSX (about $3000) and do we have specialized shops for the RSX (in or near Montreal) ?

(I asked my friend to join the forum but I am starting a round of questions for him)

The best mod to put is:
1. A cold air intake
2.Header
3.Exhaust
And you are talking about 3000$ so you should have enough money to put the hondata k-Pro its a great product for the k-series.

1500$ for hondata
400$ for CAI
750-800$ for RS*R exhaust
500-600$ for a good set of 4-2-1 headers

your looking at a nice setup then
around 200WHP +/-

thats the kind of setup im looking at myself

rsx mods

I don't personely know about (autotec h.p.) probably a good shop but I would say wwwautolaminar.com the hondata dealer for the province of quebec. I got my set up from them. a cold air intake from aem is 360. d.c. race header 560. hondata reflash no.4 for type s is 850. these prices include taxes with that set up you should see numbers of 195 whp. the stock type s net about 165 whp. no need at that stage for exhaust the stock one is not bad. so 360.+560.+850.=1770.00 k/100 and k/pro with tuning will net you from 200 to 210 whp. prices 1050. and 1500. you can alway's start with no.4 and later upgrade for k/pro you would then only pay for the difference between the 2..:D

1500$ is for hondata KPRO + $ for tuning
750$ just for a hondata flash

Exhaust wont give much if any gains (i have an RSR exmag, no difference)

The only mods that get power are CAI and Race header ,and hondata

thanks guys !

I will start looking into the hodata stuff.
Any info on the intake and headers available ?
Let's get into details here ...
Short ram ? AEM, K&N, others ? benefits ?
Headers ... ceramic coated ? header wrap ? better gasket ?

rsx mods

ok 1- best is go to the hondata.com site for info. or contact Rob at ( Laminar-auto 514 595-5394) 2- short-ram is mostly for intake sound no real hp.gain the best one is the AeM V-2 but w'ont give as much gain as the cold air system. k series loves colder air , injen is the best one a litle more expensive then Aem and very close to the same hp. gain it's moore a personal choise and they differ a litle in instalation injen is a less complex instalation. you should at the same time get the hondata intake gasket (75.00) again to keep your intake temp. as low as possible headers is a personal choise too. toda as the best one but that's the most expensive more then double the price of the D.C. jacson racing as a good one but then again moore $$ 860. and there's also comptech but $$ D.C. is the popular choise less then half the price of a toda and 2/3 of the hp. ceramic header is less expensive than stainless/steel same hp. some guy's also bypass the coolant liquid from the trotle/body again to keep intake temp low . (summer-time only) *tu*

thx for the detailed info ...
With a short ram, I think the intake will get more warm air from the engine compartment. Even worst if we change the headers. That's why I was asking about header wrap. What is the best way to keep the intake cool ? And what does the hondata intake gasket do ?

best mods

hondata gasket keep your intake temp. cooler so does the trottle/ bypass to prevent a couple of pony to gallop away in the heat of summer..go to clubrsx.com or k series.com just to name a few good site ..

free k-pro test

Why not call us to have the k-pro installed into your car for a few days,if you dont think its great,we will remove it ,and it wont cost you anything.
Also if we do prepare your ecu for either k-pro or k100,you dont loose your car.We will leave the loaner in you car till yours is ready, usually 1-2 days.
I dont think you can go wrong with that deal!
just ask:pierre-218 hp/149 tq
Paul-230 hp/160 tq
Dara-208 hp/153 tq
Mathiew-195 hp/143 tq
Erol-199 hp/135 tq
Tommy-249 hp(turbo 8psi)
Pierre-229 hp/170 tq
Mike -152 hp (k20a3)
These are result at the wheels, and others are not mentioned since i dont know the numbers.
We prepare the k-pro and k-100 in house, and Gerry does a great job!
Who will be next to break the 200 whp mark??

whats the difference or main difference between the kpro and k100?

and yes boxsterboy ;) im looking at doing a few things to it since the LSD is in mine it would be nice to add a few more goodies and have a really nice setup that way with LSD :) :) :) muahaha

With a KPRO you can adjust the tuning (ie, cam phasing, iginition, and fuel) using a laptop. You can switch from map to map as much as you like for no cost to you, and you can do datalogs and read off your ECU using your laptop.

With a K-100 you have to go to Laminar or another equiped shop to get it tuned... Its basically like getting a reflash which is reflashable more easily.

best mods rsx.

k/100 is a lot more then a reflash. the reflash .. a 49 states coast to coast bulletproof tune. so only about 90/95% of what you can take from yor car.. don't forget sea level. athmos/press. humi./ect. a reflash wont make the same reasult from let's say here and california.. some car like to be more rich/lean depending on the mod. to make better power the k/100 can be fine tune just like the k/pro the reflash /no:bigup:

I was just making it simple to understand, as in the Hondata dealer can only modify his ECU, not him.
