Depends which 8v you are talking about. The 16v head bolts straight on Digi II and ABA blocks, other 8v blocks I do not know about. THere are advantages like low compression right out of the box. Getting them to run well can be quite a challenge depending on what engine management you plan on using. Digi I is probably the easiest, although I have seen them run on Motronic, Digi II and CIS motronic.
