Good article. If you guys get the chance to drive that road, and many others which cross the Alps, don't pass it up. I went over and over, in a discustingly slow Citroen C2 1.1l (61hp / 69tq), and I still had an incredible time. Luggage firmly strapped in the rear seats, girlfriend pleading for me to slow down, and tires and brakes screaming for mercy, it's SO much fun to drive over there. :D

"This time around though North America will be getting both the 3-door and the 5-door models."

YES! And the pictures are sweet. :D

And yes driving through the Alps is a must, I had my chance a few times, last time it was with a B5 2.slow Passat :p

Sweet we actually get the 5door as well it looks so hot  and the 1series looks like fun rear drive small package + winter = pure drift :D :goofy: especially with the 130i. Plus BMW is thinking of bringing it to Canada  mabey late 2006 2007, Canada's car market looks promising.
