Hi guys, id like to know if there is any major known problems with these cars (2000 S4) and is it a good used car to buy?
 
Good question, I was wondering the same thing.

I just heard that the turbo's get weak around the 100,000 kms mark and have a tendency to blow.

only on one side, cause the exhaust was poorly ran and causes excess heat, I believe.
 
Stock turbos are a weak part *ONLY* if the car was chipped... Boosting 18 PSI on these poor babies is simply killing them over time due. Solution is to upgrade them to K04 or more... so to 400hp+.

Else than that you may refer to some post here... it's been posted often. For 20K, this car is a %#$ deal. Even if you have to spend a few bucks on repair, at 20K it's a steal.
 
Like Chuck said.. There are some good deals out there. Also, If applicable, getting an extended warranty(even one year and the one that covers not that much), can be "benifique"

How much is the turbo swap for KO4s including the turbos?

Whats the stock psi?
 
Buy Bretts 2.7T passat and have money left over for K04s!!! Also cheaper to repair and faster at high speeds!

its a very nice car, but I want a car that I can drive during winter (awd) and I would love to have 6 speeds

"transmission neuve" *td* all s4's have been beaten to death and i would never get one used.

If ever I do, it will be from some rich person in Westmount that has all the bills, maintenance and that the car turns out o.k. If not, f that.. I wait 5 extra years and get a new one.

As for the U.S S4's, they are VERY over priced. Diff. market I guess..(I knwo for a fact that is)

i know soemone in tmr. 43 yr old guy. the car is mint nd silver color. Very low mileage, Illa sk him if he wants to sell *tu*
