I heard it's a well known problem on GM trucks that the gas gauge stop working.

Anyone know about this and what is to change ?

Yeah I have a 2000 Jimmy. About 6-8 months after I bought it the gas gauge stopped working.

I just reset the trip when I gas up. When I hit 400Kms, it's time to start looking for a gas station.

Not sure exactly what the problem is. In opinion it's not worth fixing in my case.

Yep very normal problem on GM trucks.. you have to change the pump because the float system is integrated on the pump unit and always fails. Ive changed about 50 of them. Takes about 1h to do

What year is the truck?

2002, I want to fix this... It's always the pump ?

I was hoping for a relay or soemthing lolll

There is also a ground near the filler tube on the chassis that gets all rusted and breaks off. So check that as well. Ive fixed a few of those but the pumps still needed to changed. It has something to do with the contacts on the float system.

The pump is around 300$ because it comes as an assembly

There must be a web site somewhere that you can order this for cheap huh ?

I'm so new to this whole american/truck thing lol...
