Can someone tell us if Laser Guns have judicial notice in quebec???
They donot have judicial notice in most provinces/states in north america.

If the Laser guns donot have judicial notice and a cop uses it to catch you. Then in the court they are supposed to present a qualified expert witness who will confirm the accuracy of lasser guns. They never get such a witness.............Hence your case will be dismissed if you object.

So, anyone, Do laser guns have judicial notice in Quebec???

The answer is YES.

Lasers are the most precise peice of equipment police officers have. NASA uses laser in their space shuttle, many industries use laser to measure equipment, the army uses laser to guide their missiles... How can you argue with that.

The only argument you could have is an error made by the police officer, not the equipment.

No, because the cops in Québec have to calibrate it and test it before going to work. So...it's always calibrated !

But does anyone know if Lasers have judicial notice in Quebec????

Like radars have judicial notice. So in the court no one has to prove that radars are 'ok' to be used for speed traps. Because the courts in canada have already given them a judicial notice (i.e. approved them) for measuring speeds.

In most provinces Lasers dont have such judicial notices yet, because they are fairly new....In that case, if you ask, the cop's are obliged to bring an expert (like a researcher or a qualified person who knows about these devices) to prove that they can be used for speed traps. Cops never bring such an expert with them.

So does anyone know if Lasers have been given judicial notice in quebec?????
