99-00 civic floor mat fitment

I just bought some brand new civic floormats from the honda dealership, and I was wondering why there's an archor hole in the drive side mat, near the trunk release lever? Is there some kind of trick to anchor the mat in place so i doesn't slide up underneathe the pedals? The mats came with this dinky looking yellow plastic piece, but I can't figure out it's purpose. Any help would be great. :bigup:

in front of the drivers seat should be a thingy sticking up to hold the mat in place.

In my 00 SiR there is no "thing" sticking up?? No one on here who drives an SiR had the stock civic mats???
