Prelude or eclipse

im looking into buying a car this summer, ive pretty much narrowed it down to an 97 eclipse or 97 prelude. In comparison what would be a better buy?
 
Well, since its a Honda section...I bet the majority will vote for the Prelude :)

I say go test drive both first and then, go buy that Prelude and enjoy the summer :)
 
Well it depends which model eclipse? if its the base one, then prelude all the way but if its the turbo model, i would choose that.
 
Si tu recherche la preformance seulement alors vas pour la Eclipse si c'est une turbo bien sure.

Si tu cherche la fiabilité, le cout des pieces, le comfort et la valeur de revente vas pour la prelude.

Conclusion: à court term = Eclipse
à long term = Prelude
 
i like both cars but all i know is the eclipse has always had problems with its engine it is always in repair so i have had and they tell me the parts are not cheap!

Exactement ca mon chum a une eclipse gst-x je pense que ce une 97...tk ya ben des **** pour la fiabilite au moteur..ya toujours de koi qui petes...pis mon chum avec une talon avec un moteur tsi turbo lui aussi ca pete souvent..
 
what's up. Funny thing, I found myself in the same situation as you. It's not that I chose the eclipse over the prelude because of anything special, i just like to be slightly unique. Car wise I love both cars, however ya the eclipse is more of a fling thing, it's the enjoyment of the car while the prelude is nice and practical. Also, the eclipse is really overpriced, dunno why, just the way it is everywhere. Hell if I didn't get my car, i'da gotten a 98 prelude.

but ya, the prelude will probably be less $$$ in the long run...
 
I dont think i would get the turbo just because i dont think i could afford it, i think i would most likely go with the gs. in terms of modifying it, prelude would have cheaper parts but you dont think the eclipse has a sharper look to it?
 
la prelude marche autant sinon un peu plus meme que la Eclipse turbo anyway et je sais de quoi je parle, char stock les 2 un contre l'autre, et la Prelude et 100 fois plus fiable Eclipse = char à trouble...
 
eclipse turbo 220 hp
prelude 200 hp mais moin lourde....et plus performant...

PRELUDE ALL THE WAY
 
If I were you I would get an Eclipse ...
- they are pretty rare in Quebec ...
- Nicer look
- Better performance
- If you get a GSX (Turbo, AWD)... the acceleration is just amazing ... i`ve been in one ... trust me ...
- If you guys think that parts are really expensive for mitsubishi`s ... no ... they are affordable :D
- The prices are O.K ... centre_auto has some for sale for good prices ... if any of you guys saw his Eclipse at the NSC show ... :bow: *jawdrop* :bigup: ...
Prelude is nice ... but they aint that rare so ... basically go with the ECLIPSE :D
 
En tant que conducteur de Prélude, je n'ai pas le choix de dire d'y aller avec la Prélude !!! J'ai moi même eu une certaine hésitation entre les deux, surtout en raison de la fiabilité et de la valeur de revente, j'ai choisi la Prélude !!!

Mais niveau performance, je suis désolé de t'apprendre qu'une Éclipse Turbo AWD passe la prélude sans trop de difficulté...
(conditionnel à une mécanique en parfaite condition, turbo surtout)

Mais si tu as des projets, n'oublie pas qu'il y a plus à exploiter sur une Prélude qu'une Éclipse ... (mon point de vu)

I love the LUDE......

I never drove a Eclipse, so I can't say anything....

IMO, the LUDE is best
 
moi j'aime bien c'est 2 voiture si tu veux un char rare au quebec et qui va tracer 99.9% des chars que tu va voir va y avec l'éclipse en plus l'hiver ca se conduit bin en .... awd héhé

mais la prelude aussi a torche pis c sure ca!!! plus fiable en résumé c du honda . la prelude c'est pas the best l'hiver il ne faut pas oublier ce point!! je c'est pas quoi te dire là!!! mais je vai surement mettre un moteur de prelude dans mon integra fac vive honda ,mais eclipse en parfaite condition c dur a battre avoir le cash c ca mon choix si est en extremement parfaite conditon !!!!! sinon oubli!
 
just out of curiousitu, do you know what size mags you can put on an eclipse because the wheel well is pretty damn big
