distributor noise

ihava a b16 engine and i noticed a noise coming from my distribitor when the car is idling driving i have no problem but the noise sounds like it might get worse..

1) The bearing in the distributer is probably finished (worst case).
Remove the cap, take the three screws off that hold your distributer on and pull it off, (make sure you remember where the rotor was pointing). spin the shaft. It should spin freely.
If not... Change it before she ceases up.

2) Open it up and see how the cap and rotor look inside.
