Hey, I currently have myself a Brullen full line cat back..and I was thinking of changing the muffler box only..I want something a little quieter...anyone out there know of a quiet muffler?

I've heard about TRD's Stealth model..also Brullen make a "quiet" model..but no one I know has it..

if my pipe is 2 1/2 inches with no catalyc converter, it makes a lot of noise now but if i add a cat converter will it make my car a lot quieter? if yes does anybody know where i could get a used cat converter?

i am also looking for a quieter muffler for my civic. if anybody has one for sale please let me know

i have a stock si muffler at home laying around. it was used for 3weeks. With the piping you have, you'll have decent backpressure if this is what you're looking for, pm me.

For 2 1/2 inch piping, the Mugen Twin Loop and Comptech axel backs are some of the best choices IMO. The Mugen Twin Loop is offered as an axel back only, where as the Comptech is offered as both an axel-back and a cat-back.

Both the Tanabe Hyper Medalion and Apex'i World Sport are also very good aftermarket quiet exhausts, however I'm not sure if they are offered as an axel-back.

There are quite a few more silent exhaust choices out there (RS-R is on the come back in NA) I'm just not all that familiar with them.

Normal 2.25"... (hmmm..gotta check..)

If a OEM Si muffler box would fit..I'd actually go back to that..

if the flange allows for it to fit, pm me and i'll be glad to work something out for you. pm me

An OEM Si muffler is under 2". The stock SiR muffler is 2" while the ITR muffler is 2 1/4".

I put a full SIR exahust...its as quiet as stock and i get the proper flow i need....

paid 150$ for the whole thing and im happy...

if you install cat converter you will louse power your better with a resonateur or reduce your outlet of your muffler if you can.

yes riding with no cat is illegal and comes with a big fine! not a littel 250 $ fine bt a big one! As well I dont see how your stock cat will not flow enough for your car! How can some one say your going to loose power with out knowing your setup? Mechano I want to knwo how you knew he would lose power? If the rest of his intake/exhasut system is upgraded then how will he loose because of the restriction? yes maybe 1-3 hp but thats about it! The upgrades will increase the velocity of the ari n-e ways thus the stock cat will flow more than with out the aditional bolt ons thus not much power loss will be felt...actually the butt dyno cant even tell teh diff!

Secondly runing no cat on your setup = dead exhaust! lets see where does all the unburnt fuel go..hmmm rather 1 to the resonator or to the muffler...very hot unburnt fuel that can detonate=...Dead glass pack thus your killing your muffler and your resonator  great idea!

theres a reason why people pay big money on high flow cats and its cause it does flow more than stock but it still does its job and save the rest of your exhaust! No cat = death to resonators and exahusts in alot shorter time than they should for more carbon buildup on them as well as melting them due to high heat that they were not made for due to detonation of unburnt fuel!

But hey what do I know

PS: might wanna look into greddy and dc sports thoes 2 are very quite on every day driving and growl at wot!

thanks for the tips twin54 i will take it into consideration. i am looking for ppl to help me out and u gave me tips that i could use
