hey guys,

im about to install my procomp 2'' lift with my 32'' bfg mt's. My tj is completely stock as we speak, do u think my tires will rub after the lift?

do u guys also see a problem with my rims? i have 15x7's (maybe 7.5) would the 32's fit well?

32s shouldn't rub unless at very full articulation with 2" on a TJ, might rub at full steering if you use stock rims, but you can ajust the steering stops to correct this !

I have 31s on my YJ which have less space in the fenders than a TJ and it didn't rub except on the leaves at full steering. I had only a 1" BL untill this weekend, now the 31s look too small with 5" of lift !

Also, for the stock rims, use a 32x10.5 tire and you will be fine with a 15x7 rim.
I have 31x10.5x15 on my stock YJ wheels (7" wide). You can also fit 12.5 inch wide tires but it's the limit, one of my friend runs 33x12.5 on his stock 7" wide rims.

Thanks Sector, thats very good to know. my first car ever was a YJ. funny how sometimes u come back full circle in life.

Congrats on the lift, 5'' on a yj should be killer. I was going to go 4'' but im trying to keep the car somewhat civilized in terms of height.

Is it tough to adjust the steering stops?

You will rub on the control arm at full turn, and may rub on rear upper spring perch while axle flex (YJ has neither so they are a bit more forgiving). Your tire also may rub on flare when spring is compressed if you haven't extended the bumpstop.

15x7 wheel is a bit narrow for 11.5 wide tires, but will be fine if you go for 10.5. Steering stop is just a bolt, take it out, add a couple of washers and put it back on. However with 32 you will need to adjust them a lot and lose a lot of turning radius. I bet your rim has 5.5" of backspacing so the common 1.25 wheel spacer will be plenty.

well the deal i got included the 11.5's, so i cant really change. so with my setup what other parts u recommend i pick up so it doesnt touch anywhere?

are bumpstops hard to install?

has someone tried installing 11.5 tires on 7''?

Consider people run 12.5 on 8" all the time, I'd say 11.5 on 7" is okay. As for rubbing, wheel spacer is pretty much the only way to solve it short of buying new wheels. Search ebay there are a lot (or sdl, national4wd etc.), get 4 1.25" ones with 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern. Don't get those just sandwitch between wheel and hub, I don't trust them.

The correct way to install bumpstop extension is take out spring, pull the rubber bumpstop, take off the cup, add some sort of spacer under it then reinstall the whole thing. But I got lazy so I glue a hockey puck on the lower spring perch with rtv silicone.

yeah thanks for the tips, ive found someone who can do the spacers for me. so ive solved that part. but honestly im slowly getting convinced that i might get rims after all.

i have to admit, i like my rims, they are regular stock jeep ecco rims but they are painted gunmetal, thats the way they come on the columbia edition.

but if it means im going to have to sacrifice alot on the performance size, then rims is the way to go. although like i said earlier its also a budget thing. im keeping my eye on the used sections.

so basically with my lift and rim with the right offset, u guys think ill be fine all around, no rubbing on the side or on the top?

I have spacers that gives me 4" BS, and no rub at all with 32x11.5. I *think* anything less than 4.5" is fine with this tire size.

As for bumpstop extension I think 1" is enough, but not positive because I need to do something about my shitty axle before going offroad.
