Hey guy,
I've been wondering if I should put my LS head on a CRV block, but im not sure if I will actuly gain that much out of it, please write back if you know if its worth it or if its more trouble then anything.
Thanks
Having 2 heads won't make much sence... But if you mean swaping the 1.8 l block for the 2.0 l one... then, I say if you can get a b20z cheap go for it! You will gain low end power, plus with a good set of cams you can maintain good decent power troughout the powerband.
I don't think there is a difference between both heads so I would say no, it will not help you with anything (if your talking about swapping a B20 head for a B18B head).
what are you talking about the block has nothing to do with the cams, the block is pretty much the same just bigger pistons. i'm just not sure if i'll have to do any head work to fit my ls head on the crv block
the head of the b20 and the head of the b18 are praticly the same, its not worth it to make the swap...i suggest you a vtec head...or like said above, put b20 (keep the b20 head) with your b18 tranny and change the cams...
thanks guys, I just want to build something that will be pretty fast but i want it to stay reliable, alot of people tell me i'm going to have alot of problems if i do this?
Well that's what I'm telling you. Swapping heads is not worth it because both heads are the same, it's the cams that are different from a B20 and a B18.
You can always go with a VTEC head but you will lose reliability for sure no matter how you do it. Just install some good Crower Cams on it and get a port and polish job if you have enough money. This will give you very good power increase and it will still be very reliable.
