volks diesel question

hi i just bought a 92 golf diesel and i have one question: i heard that these days diesel users should add some kind of additif to the fuel because the new diesel gas are less lubrifiant than before because they changed its composition???
can someone care to clarify

the only additive i hear people use is the 4 in 1 additive but mostly in the winter. i have yet to hear about difference in the fuel. but i would like to know if what you say is accurate.

yeh they changed the old diesel fuel to ultra low sulfure type and old diesel engines wernt made for ultra low sulfure fuel so we have to add an additive to help lubrifie the engine.....

but it would be great if we had an experts opinion .
