Well, Eric (dubguyvr6) decided that he really wanted my OEM Navi, since I'm not sticking with MKIV. So I stole his stock radio, gave it to insurance, and yanked out my navi system.
Last night we decided to do the installation so at around 7:00PM. We took our time, I had everything wired, tested the navi unit, worked like a champ and now it was time to put everything together. Here's where the issues began...
We put everything back, the beast won't start! We treked to the middle of no-where to pick up Eric's vag-com, checked the codes, some awkward errors and tried to trouble shoot it. 1:30AM, Eric and Ricky finally went home for some rest. Eric and I were still looking online for solutions...
9:00AM the next day we try a few other things... as I take out the cluster there's 1 small pin in the cluster that freakishly bent and curved. It happened to be a very important pin, causing the immobilzer to shut the car down after ignition.
So here's where Walmart and the lovely red headed employee at the jewlery place helped us. We used her little tools to straighten that bad boy up and got the beast running again!
If you were to understand the pain and suffering me and especially Eric went through last night and this morning, you'd understand the joy and happiness we're feeling! So here's some photos...
What we thought was the original problem...
That redhead deserved a rose! You should've seen how red-faced Eric was and aw-struck she was when he actually gave it to her!
Then we went for some Asian buffet! It's hard to read, it says "C'est une belle journee" and it really was!
What started it all... atleast it looks beautiful in that sexy machine!
