Wassup,

I need advice on engine swaps. I am in the market to buy a 4 Gen prelude 92-94. Some cars have A H22A engine or a 5th gen engine inside. I heard that these engine swaps are not recomendable because of there weight compared to their original engine. Is there any truth to this subject?

Is it a really bad idea to buy a Car with an engine swap arleady in place?
Thankz for the advice!

well prelude SRV dont have any h22a.. its called h23a... as for the 5gen engine inside a 4th gen... never heard of it but i know you can swap for a jdm h22a type S (5th gen in japan)..

or you can do like me... buy a prelude S (less expensive) and then swap for a jdm h22a.

i dont think there is a huge weight difference... never heard of this.

all i have to say ... 4gen lude rulz =)

SRVs do have H22s, it's the SR Preludes that have a H23 non vtec engine.

A h23 is the same weight as a H22 (or very very close) so you will not see a difference in swapping these engines in a Prelude. You will see a difference if you swap a H22 in a Civic though so that's probable where you heard of problems with this swap.

I was just looking at a 413 Hp prelude of your same generation and it must FLY!!! I wouldn't worry about the weight too much! Just get a real good suspension package...Your steering might not be TRACK worthy but it will be fast! Depends what you wanna do! good luck
