^^^ looks that way, I'm trying to confirm with ffracer via PM, I'll let everyone know what he tells me. And this is a good section of the CSR for those curious, no one wants to give out copies of it... as we know for obvious reasons.

All the provincial law texts are. In both french and english too boot. Why do you think no one wants to give out copies of it ?

The reason the law is there since 1986 is because that is when the old CSR started being replaced by the current one. The old CSR had about 130 articles vs the current 600 or so. Unfortunately, you'll have to go to a law library to get it since it's not available online, the text only showing that it has been completely replaced since the end of 1987 :

Haven't seen your posts, because otherwise I would've told you. It's been this way for a while too, I remember first digging through that site back in 2002, when this whole muffler BS started with article 94, prior to the Bureau Judgment.

qu'est-ce que vous attendez pour donner des tickets a canadian tire, a ebay, et a 99.9% des magasins de pièces d'autos?
 
Faut justement en prouver l'utilisation en premier lieu.

Ensuite il faut une personne qui se fait coller pour son muffler illégal qui est prêt a me faire une déclaration+être prêt d'aller en cour sur l'endroit où il l'a acheté et que le vendeur a mentionné qu'il pouvait s'en servir sur la voie publique.

Très dure d'application, surtout que la majorité du monde que j'intercepte doute toujours de la la loi sur les mufflers et qu'en plus il ne veulent pas se mêler de ça.

Ce n'est pas pour rien que la grande majorité des "speed shops" vont annoncer les produits "for track purpose only".

pourtant vous vous gênez pas pour les normes 91 et 94 même si ca semble très dur d'application aussi...

Petit problème de compréhension n'est-ce pas?

Relis ce que FFRacer a écrit, c'est très clair et bien expliqué. Pour faire la preuve de l'article 259, il faut avoir une déclaration du propriétaire du muffler en question. Ensuite, dans cette déclaration, il faut qu'il soit démontré que le vendeur a bel et bien spécifié que l'utilisation soit faite pour les chemins publics.

L'application est complètement différente.
 
my magnaflow does not say for track use only :dunno: Most magnaflows are "50 state legal" apparently that doesnt mean anything in Canada I know. Weird how we use the american DOT norms though....

Well more and more theres people getting tickets for mufflers because they don't say HONDA on them. Surely you can wait outside minute muffler and bust a bunch of Walker quiet flow punks. Not too hard to proove that the car is meant for street use when it drives in from and out to the street.

Their mufflers "Run Quieter, and last longer". Clearly they don't respect the original characteristics, they admit it themselves!
 
^^^ffracer reffered me to them, I told him the same thing, thats no better than my magnaflow in the sense that its not an original OEM muffler from the manufacturer, making it an illegal component under article 258 of the CSR.

So in reality I am genuinely screwed if I take article 258 seriousley because Toyota discontinued the muffler for my Supra. Imagine that.

In reality ANYONE who buys a Midas muffler is not conforming to article 258, even an old grandma in her 88 olds cutlass could be not conforming according to article 258. Imagine the amount of tickets the police could give out if they want. This is insane.
