Got my Liscense plate stolen!

As title says it..I got my liscense plate stolen at Car4 Laval.
We are saturday and its 5:30 so SAAQ is closed, I called the cops and they said that a cop from Chomedey will call me on Monday.

My question is: 1) Can I drive my car with some kind of proof that the car is legit on the roads(like my registration paper)?
2) Why do people do this? to rob gas? cars?

Call your insurances ASAP and SAAQ as you can. If you have for example a silver hatchback civic, and someone with a silver hatchback civic like yours takes your license plate and do like you said, steal gas well he's gonna be kinda safe. And he could also go steal another silver civic and put your license plate on it, so it doesnt look suspicious.

print your license plate on a piece of paper and tape it in the back....lol

i'd get in touch with the SAAQ so they can release a new plate for you so you are not responsible for anything the person who stole your plate would do.
