Anyone ever been given a ticket for having no airbag?

ok so i have a 97 civic that originally comes with an airbag in the drivers wheel only. I've had my Personal steering wheel and hub for a while now and ive been hesitating to put it on because of the retarded fine you can get and the insane police presence at the begining of this summer

so my question is: do people really get fined for this? Like is it something that cops are actually aware of and do they hand them out often?

I would like to here from people with personal experiences of having removed a steering wheel airbag and being ticketed or not ticketed

I dont need to hear "if its against the law of course they fine people for it" cause personally ive never heard of someone getting a fine for removing their airbag

If the police sees it you'll get a fine or an inspection.
Is your car modified. Drop, muffler, bumpers anything to atract attention. If yes........ its asking for a ticket.
 
not only u ll get probleme with the cops but also with ur insurance

why not putting CTR steering??? it comes with the SRS
 
CTR steering wheel is not that nice and people are asking 500-600 for one cause its friggin JDM bla bla bla...its rediculous

and yes my car is modded...3 inch exhaust from the turbo back, a resonator, and a turbo XL muffler

i have a type r lip kit, the car is red, time attack TE37 rep wheels, with a fairly heavy drop and a big intercooler

i do get pulled over often for shit like my exhaust and "random" inspections (my ass random lol)
 
^thats the thing....i already pay enough in tickets that i dont need another reason...but the stock wheel is so ugly and this one is so nice!!!

I already got a ticket for not having one in my CRX, wich never came with one in the first place.. So yeah they notice it :/
 
I guess it helps that you car doesnt have a passenger airbag. That's something police officers look out for to determine if a car came out of the factory with airbags or not.

You might fool some cops that can't be bothered to double check, but one day you'll come across one that knows for a fact all EKs sold in canada had at least 1 airbag.

And that's when I'll be looking forward to your "Got a ticket for missing airbag" thread

ok so its only a 51 $ ticket??? i thought it was like 800$

can anyone confirm that its a 51$ ticket if your caught having removed an airbag?
