Hi,
Today, I got a ticket for having too small orange reflactors. Is there any law that states what is the minimum reflector size?

150m, is alsmot 1 and 1/2 block. Are you sure that is right? At a block away, I can barely see my BMW nor M3 logo...

I was going to the court near old montreal, because Begin, the peacekeeper, gave a ticket for muffler, last year.

anyways, the importance part is that when he saw me drive by. I beleive he recognizes my car (Because he prepared for my hearing), he decided to stop me again, this time, right in front of the court house.

I have never been stopped in my 4 years of driving history and I have been stopped twice in two years by Begin. How ironic!

Anyways, I told him that had a court hearing. and he replied:
- moi aussi, on va tous être en retard!.

He then gave me verbal statement;
He told me that my reflectors were too small and that my 3rd brake light were off, and I will expecting my tickets by the post.

the picture of my car.

No, I did not put that there as smart ass, but that is the biggest yellow reflector I can find.
there are alot of white and red reflector, but no yellow one.

Lol ok sorry.
I just find it's streching things a bit.
Your reflectors size, and the guy who waist is time giving a ticket.
Unbeleivable.

You cant argue that they are really too small... and as flagman said, they must be visible at leat 150m away.

well the whole point of reflectors is to be seen at night. what if you had a yellow car for example. you wouldn't be able to see even a larger reflector like that IN THE DAY.

the 150m thing is irrelevant in the daytime.

if you can see it at night with a light from 150m, then you have what i like to call, a case.

But they are too small & not a nice upgrade to me.
I mean are they necessary since you have side markers?

Can anyone define "visible"?

I have to be able to see the reflectors as 150 metres or do I have to be able to see a light reflection at 150 metres?

I'm sure you have to see a light reflection at 150 metres since they are reflectors. I can see a LED at 150 metres if it's powered but I can't see it if it's off.

I'm 100% sure you can see the reflection at 150 metres!

Besides, who has to be able to see the reflection? someone with 20/20 vision? 18/20? 16/20?

Just fight the ticket, you'll win in court for sure. I'm sure Officer Begin didn't take a picture of your reflectors at 150 metres.

Thanks for your answers.

Yes, they are visible at night, if there is a light pointed at it. For how far? I don't know.

I will do a test tonight, if it doesn't rain. And I will surely post the results.

Thanks for your help.
