Hey guys,
This summer seemed to be starting off nicely, or so I thought! I was looking to buy a motorcycle, and came accross one quite close to my house.. I went to see it, was told that it was plated up until sept '07 and that I wouldn't need an inspection before sept '08.. As I was trying the bike, I was layed down in a curve, and had the shittiest of luck, and hit a cat.. I layed the bike down in the grass, and I ended up getting shreded on the asphalt.. Anyhow, I decided to buy the bike (you break it, you buy it, right?).. This was on a wednesday, on which day I left him a deposit.. On the friday, he DROVE the bike over to my house, and infront of both of my parents and 3 friends, told me that "he had gone to the SAAQ and had to pay whatever amount of money.. He didn't know that it was still plated.. So I wouldn't need an inspection for a year (meaning June '08).. However, on the following thursday, I went to the SAAQ to transfer the registration, and was told that it hadn't been plated for a year and a half and that I would need an inspection.. After calling him, he said that he would come to the SAAQ with me and fix things (how, I don't know..) and has since avoided me for 2 weeks..

What legal procedures can I take against him? I mean, I was told (with witnesses) that I didn't need an inspection.. Yes I did have an unfourtunate accident with the bike, but if in the beggining, he would have told me that it wasn't platable without an inspection, I wouldn't have been interested.. Therefore would NOT have tried it..

Any info would help!
Thanks
Cory

I'm not quite sure why the inspection is such a bad thing? If the bike is fit for the road then it will pass the inspection.
