''Tout appareil pouvant servir a faire des appel téléphonique''
Your screwed.

what happpens if your holding a plastic "play cell" phone to your ear while driving, are they still going to give you a ticket? this law doesnt have a place in the CSR. If it does its in the bullshit section with article 158 for exhaust tickets.

Buy a GPS Unit, or print out directions before hand.

Holding a Phone, or any other device in your hand is going to net you a ticket. If you pick up your iPod to change a song, they will pull you over and still give you a ticket.

Keep your hands on the wheel, and you'll be fine.

anyways I'm sure cops only stop people who are holding the phone to their ear....it's pretty hard to say you were changing songs if that's the case...

its not illegal to hold a big sausage in 1 hand and a coffee in the other and drive a manual.. only a cell phone, its ok as long as your not engaged in a conversation that will take your mind off the road, which is why they banned it.... Like eating, when you eat you dont have to think (bite, chew, swallow, repeat) when people call you on a cell phone they normally dont call you for nothing and ask you questions that make you think (take your mind off the road)
so i dont know why bluetooth headset is good, ok you you have a hand free, but on a cell phone if you need the second hand you can always put the phone down. I say ban talking on the phone while driving period...

For now if your too cheap to buy bluetooth headset just put on the speakerphone and tape the phone to the steering wheel, then just yell at the steering wheel and no problems..

How does being distracted while talking on the phone and driving not belong in the Code de la Sécurité Routière.

This law is in the proper code.

well i pretty much do what i did before. i never made it a point to be on my phone while driving n the first place. so if i get a call, i make it quick, that's it. i never go on having these 15min calls anyway. to the point, then i'm done.

I think the cell phone law is pretty stupid. I think it's just another way for them to get more money. It will only bring headaches for people because of stupid cops who'll ticket them for no good reason.

Are you saying that yakking on the phone while driving and not paying attention is a good thing?

hum actually i think he meant that the problem hasn't been solved ...

The problem has clearly been stated, Holding the phone in your hand takes half a brain cell... I'ts the conversation that sucks up all your concentration...
SCIENTISTS at MIT PROVED that a conversation on the cellphone was more demanding than a conversation with a passenger.

Yeah you could blame that on the hand needed to hold the phone (You'd have to be a total moron but i guess you could)

Instead of sitting on their hands and swallowing such a stupid excuse (Like our good friend and "specialist" Dekonink:run:) the SCIENTISTS at MIT analysed the feed from a discussion over cellphone and discovered that the sound you hear from a cellphone is, even though you don't realise it, constantly intterupted. pauses so short your "ears" don't notice but it requires a great deal of concentration from your brain to piece it back together and understand the meaning of it

</sarcasm mode on>
I mean we all know the guys at MIT are a little stupid and nowhere near intelligent and that we should all rely on our friend DeKoninck's feeling...
</sarcasm mode off> *blah*

From these conclusions, one could extrapolate that the bluetooth hands free, adding a little more interference probably makes the matter worse (though it has not been studied so i won't take it into account.)

I know this was just a post on a board on internet that won't ever reach anywhere but still it makes me feel a Lil' better while i get assraped by these "friends":thefinger

There was an episode of Mythbusters where they compared the reaction times of a drunk driver (it was done on a closed course) versus a person talking on their cell phone. In both cases, they ran over a lot of cones.

But i agree that the current cell phone law is too narrow. Talking on a cell phone without a headset gets you a ticket while there is no law against reading a newspaper while driving.
