Can I run this muffler?

I want to remove my Magnaflow because of constant tickets. The Dynomax Super Turbo is the aftermarket replacement for my car. Well, not exactly. The stock one has 2 outlets, I just want one. :D

Anyways, I've heard them on quite a few cars like mine and they are quiet. I really want to throw one on but I'm scared I'll still get a ticket just because I want a nice tip instead of the ugly stock stuff. This is the tip I want to run it with.

if u just want the tip, why dont u just run stock exhaust with a nice tip.

too bad stock exhausts suck. and that's definitely a "TICKET ME!" exhaust tip, imo.
 
or a corolla (a the time i was running with a hole in the exhaust , i just go arrested 1 time in 2 weeks
 
I run a chambered/baffled RSR Exmag and I still get unwanted attention. OEM is probably the best option nowadays.
 
why would they ticket me though? the car actually has a muffler exactly like this from the factory:dunno: If I got a ticket, would I be able to contest it?

i had one once, got pulled over, then no ticket since it was not straight through, the cop was pissed his tape measure didnt go through, but let me go. (they might be harsher now i dunno)

but it happened more than once, and i got away with it every time.
i did get a ticket for an "n1 style" muffler on a stock exhaust line that was quiet....
 
Stock Replacements

You will not get a ticket for a single outlet stock replacement. The Dynomax super Turbo is a quality and good sounding exhaust, stay away from the aftermarket tips, that is what cops are looking at then if it sounds too loud your F&*CKE^.

If it makes NOISE you'll probably get ticket...........the secret is: ''No noise = No ticket''..............that's it!
 
i just got a ticket today with my apexi ws2 catback. I was able to get away with it the two previous times. And it's not a freeflow or straight through.
This cop started taking pictures of the inside of the muffler and said that he could see a grill and insisted that it should be a metal plate with no holes. So he said it's considered a free flow?!!?! he said that OEM has a mechanical attenuator and that mine is an acoustic attenuator???!?! for me... mechanical is something that moves.... i dont think there's anything mechanical in an oem muffler... and acoustic means sound..... so it's just "sound attenuation"...... why would he compare mechanical and acoustic???

anyway.. should i contest?

I don't think you understand. If I go to an auto parts store, that's the muffler they will give me. It's the premium aftermarket replacement for the car. I don't want your friends to pull me over because they see the tip, get mad because the "broche" doesn't go through and then write me a ticket anyways because they "think" it's loud.

My buddy got a 48hr warning for the stock exhaust on his 180sx:dunno: The car is whisper quiet. NO NOISE = WARNING FOR ECHAPPEMENT D'ORIGINE WITH THE NISSAN EMBLEM ON IT!!

Your right but if you take it by the word in the rule book it says clearly if it makes more noise then a stocker and even more if its not stock its illegale just upping the diameter of a pipe is illegale it sucks but that doesnt mean its right and that you have to follow the rule :bigup:

and o2cavy i hope your freind will contest if its true .
