I'm selling my winter car from the past 2 years as I have no use for it anymore.
The car has done me very well and I'm sure will last the new owner 2-3 yrs easily.
- 5spd
- Sunroof
- CD player
- 207000 kms
The Good
- The previous owner had the head of the motor rebuilt.
- Interior is in great shape, just needs a good cleaning.
- Never had trouble starting it in cold weather.
- Pretty fuel efficient.
- Doesn't burn oil.
- I replaced the entire exhaust line this past spring from the manifold back. Cost me close to 500$ Still have the bill.
- I changed the wires and plugs last fall
The Bad
- Surface rust is starting around windshield and door handles, common on Jettas
- Needs a drivers side wiper arm, it broke so I moved the passenger arm over.
- Tires will last until winter, no longer.
- When going over bumps the front rattles, I spoke to a mechanic and its apparently a spring that needs to be installed for the caliper; its a 10$ fix. I just never bothered.
- When coming off the highway, the oil light flashes and buzzes. I've checked it out and there isn't any issue with the oil. Its been doing that for the past 2 yrs and reasearched it. Its probably a faulty sensor.
In all honesty this car is a tank, its never given me problems besides the exhaust line. The inside is still clean and seats are comfortable for its age.
Great winter car, don't break your head come fall looking for a decent car.
