engine in 2003 civic died tonight... What do I do now??

this will be short and sweet. Internet is down and iPhones are a chore to post from.

Im in need of a new engine for my 2003 lx and I need it asap... My car is vital to my day to day life.

Where should I go and what engine should I get?

I drive a lot so I need something as efficient as possible. Also this came at a bad time so the money is tight.

I saw that a local scrap yard had a d17 selling for 600 with 35000 km... Is this a good idea for me? What are my other options? I don't want to exceed 1500 max right now..

Where could I get this thing installed? Should I look more jdm?
