The Devils look like a Stanley Cup team

Parise is probably the most underrated player in the NHL. I remember the Islanders picking some bum over him in the draft and Lamoriello trading up to grab him.

Same thing for Elias, he just racks up a point per game every regular season and does even better during the playoffs. Not super flashy but just shows up and produces every single night.

Elias, Shanahan, Zubrus, Parise, Madden, Brodeur, Gionta, Zajac, Langenbrunner, Holik, Rolston (having a bad year but still useful in the playoffs and has tons of experience) etc.. Even a bum like Pandolfo is a quality playoff bum.

On defense they don't have a big name but they play well as a group and manage to move the puck up the ice very quickly. (something the Habs need to learn)

I know the Sharks are better on paper, but it's a whole different game come playoff time. Guys like Elias, Madden, Brodeur have been there before and done it with success. Thorton hasn't been Mr. Playoffs.

I don't know, the Devils just look like a Cup team.

We all have our #2 team that we like to cheer on when the Habs get eliminated. I've always liked the Devils because they are a team that actually drafts and develops their star players instead of just going out and buying a team on July 1st.

David Conte and Lou Lamoriello FTW.

(Yes the Habs are still #1 for me, but still...it's fun to have something to do when the 3rd round of the playoffs come along)

Yea, the season stats worth nothing in playoff time. The team to beat remain detroit in the western conference and New Jersey in the east. SJ and Boston wont pass the 1st/2nd round, note my words.

I agree, the Devils are hot!

And what kills me the most is that we (Montreal) could of had Parise and Zajac.

not sure if it works...

This B727 should land at around 1630 today.

With Brodeur alone, it's a contending team every single year :D

Devils are never mentionned as favorites when the season begins but they're always in the playoffs and if there's one team you never want to play against come the post-season it's them...

For sure the Devils will be hard to beat...they have the best goalie in the league and the other teams in the east don't have that chance.

Brodeur = been there, done that!

New Jersey
Boston
Washington (if Théo is solid, they could be in the east finals)

The stanley cup final eastern team should be one of those 3 teams, Philly being my fourth choice but they won't make it.

Pittsburgh is good too but not good enough defensively.

Western teams should be:

San Jose
Detroit
Calgary (if they can replace themselves since they acquired Jokinen)

Chicago (not enough experience but they're so young that it could play against other teams because they're mentally not at a stage of being afraid to lose, sometimes players will put pressure on themselves knowing they have to deliver but at that age they're so innocent...)

Vancouver could surprise since they have the best goalie in the west (honorable mention to Steve Mason but just 1 year), but Luongo hasn't proved he can win it all yet...

Dallas is coming back after a slow start with Avery in the lineup but Turco has never been a playoff goalie so they won't pass.

Columbus is lacking experience and they're not good enough on the road...

I think it will come down to San Jose, Calgary and Vancouver in the west and New Jersey, Boston and Washington in the east.

I personally think it's going to be a Vancouver VS New Jersey final.

Luongo VS Brodeur!

finals is gonna be detroit vs washington

ovechkin vs datsyuk zetterberg and franzen

dont fu<k wit my wings!

who needs goaltending when we could score 10-11 goals a game with easeeeeee

your 100% right! especially when you get serisouly PWNED 8-2 by the Blue Jackets. LOL

the Wings will get outed in the first round by Columbus. Mason is just THAT sick

As for the Devils... Even with Brodeur being as sick as he is, don't forget he's choked in his last 3 playoffs
