and for html purposes, there is pagebreeze, coffeecup html editor and bunch of other alternatives (download.com)

Yeah junior dreamweaver is prety user friendly ... its all about click here , click there you know its easy :p

I learned on dreamweaver 8 and currently use CS4, but I had previous experience with Frontpage (many years back)

You can even get dreamweaver portable, which is basically a "light" version of the software.. avail through torrents.
