Yup time for another bicycle thread. Ive been wanting a bike to get to work and to the bar for a while but after serious knee injury this winter it was just necessary since its gonna play a huge role in my physio.

So its a fixie. riding it single speed until my knee is strong enough.

Specs:
Frame is a steel Bertrand with Columbus tubing, over 20 years old and never had a single part on it
hubs are profile racing track hubs
rims are velocity deep v
dt-swiss revolution spokes
front brake is dura ace 7700
old school shimano dura ace cranks and headset from the 70s or early 80s
seat post is an old profile design i found in a parts bind at home.

thanks for the comments! just took it out for its first spin a few minutes ago. feels great! wheels are stiff and very responsive yet the frame and fork is super comfortable!

I'm looking for a fixie wheelset for my bike, but I don't want to drop 300+ on wheels for a bike that might get stolen, any cheaper options?
thanks!

was this built up by an older guy named walter? there's a long time customer at the shop i worked at who always built up simple classic looking frames, run them mostly single speed and use brooks saddles, chris king, dura ace often a flat bar too.

i kix myself hard for parting out my Le Toy III :(
had a part spec that God himself would ride.

The bike was built by me. All parts came from Paul Cycle, 44 rue Ste-Anne, Pointe-Claire 695-5282.

jonnycowboy i believe bontrager makes a wheel set in your budget. come by the shop and we ca look into that. alot of suppliers are getting into the fixed gear stuff.

@SpreadTheGroove Really nice bike! :bigup:

I ordered a Giant Defy 2 yesterday!
I can't wait to have it!! :D

^ indeed is sick.

I'm thinking I might get myself a bike for this spring/summer as well.. but I really dont know what to get that'll basically replace the cardio I'd have to do at the gym (on the way to the gym) or even how much I should spend.. Help me out? :)

the hub is a flip flop, meaning its a regular single speed and a fixie on the other side. im riding it single speed until the doc gives me the okay to go fixie (serious enough knee injury)
