I've been reading up on the sun's minimum cycle we're experiencing and there is overwhelming evidence that it's going to last at least a few years if not decades.
The impact on the global temperature is going to be extreme with a mini-ice age on its way.
These mini-ice ages have happened before. One was called the Dalton Minimum.
However I think we should call this one the Al Gore Minimum, of only to mock him for his pompousness as well as his smug dismissal of the whole idea back in 2006.
Also the scientific community should be spanked for this preventing this paper from ever being officially published because apparently, they just "didn't believe it." <- direct link to PDF file of the paper, Adobe reader is required to open (I recommend using FoxIt reader, free, lighter and will not bug you with silly updates every 24 hours.)
I'm posting below a photo of the sun, it's been like that for the last 14 months, dead as a door knob. In fact photographers have started taking (nice) photos of satellites in front of the dead sun. They're pretty.
THIS IS A LINK TO A GALLERY OF NICE PHOTOS OF OBJECTS WITH THE SUN AS A BACKDROP.
