Im looking to buy an external CD-RW to connect to my gf's laptop so she can backup her school work. Burning speed or brand name is not a factor .

You could alwasy just go buy a burner at futureshop, then go buy a kit that makes it external for like $70. All toegether should cost you about $150.

or you could just uby an external cd rom
