I want to swap my 96 dx civic engine for possibly the SIR or the GSR, considering the price difference which do you think is better, i know the GSR comes off with more power, but it looks more complicated to mount.. Know of any good places or people selling them let me know !! keep rollin'

If your going to put it in your 96, I say go with the GSR, more power and more potential for the weight you have to move around. As for the mounting, there exactly the same and you'll need exactly the same things to mount a GSR or a SIR.

More torque is all I have to say. i had a 98 coupe with a B18C and with a few little things it was running 14.5's all day long.

Yeah i thought so too..... did you have any linkage problems or any parks not match up right, what did you get it for around 2800$$???? cant wait to hit the pedal and feel the torque.. and more RPM's missing that awesome wind............

The wiring was a pain in the ass due to my car being an ODBII and the motor was a OBDI.

having driven a civic gsr and owning an SiR, I would have to say that the gsr is better adapted to everyday driving. Ultimately, the SiR is just as fast on a race track, but on the street, the extra sie and torque of the gsr make it a bit quicker.

Gs-R no question about it... But if you have the extra $ get a Type-R..

Civic cx / sir: 14.70
Civic cx / GsR: 14.50
Civic cx / Type-R: 14.10

Street tires..

Imagine if you put all that money in one setup!!!!!

I'm guessing 13s

How much are the b20's running for, which car is that from ive heard of them but i forgot which car has em, would they fit just as easily? sounds like a bigger engine!...........

It's from a CR-V...you know those Honda Trucks that you always laugh at?? Yeah..well them!

Tom its the magic word that makes anything possible!!!

the motor is a direct drop in, no modification to the mounts or locations... however if your gona stay with the b20 head you will need an LS intake manifold.. now this is where it becomes not so much of a bolt on.. new manifold, new gasket, modify TB cable.. im shure theres a bit more... now if you run a vtec head (still havent seen one that doesnt leak) theres more work to be done to the head and block (I wont get in to that most of us know the frankeinsten how too's)...

I've seen a couple that don't leak. My friend as a B20Z in is type R and it rips and it runs like a champ and best of all doesn't leak, it just as to be done right.

Anyone know how much it is to drop in a b20?? is it like the SIR's or GSR's? are we talking aroud 3 grand?? How about the SIR header how much is that around.....
