It's been a while I haven't take the time to take proper before pics of cars. Lately I worked on a neighbors car, a blue Toyota Matrix and the condition was awful. Swirls from bad washing techniques, to the point you didn't even see scratches from the snow brush. Car was never waxed or polished since they got it.
The black Matrix was in better shape, and faster to work with with the same amazing results. Both went through an intensive polish to acquire the best wetness and remove 95% of paint imperfections at most.
And now the Black Matrix, paint condition was not as bad but still needed some major paint correction.
Polishing of the taillights and headlights helped a lot.

Sunlight, the best source to spot imperfections, halogen lights don't spot all problems.
