Hi guys.

As you can tell from my nick, I'm more a volks guy. I've got a 99 GTI, but I might be changing that come this spring. I'm looking into a 5th gen prelude.

I was wondering if you guys might be nice enough as to give me a little info on the model, I'm not talking about hp figues. I want the low down on what to look out for, it's weak points, strong point. Model difference, I know the type-sh has that handling thing above the non-sh, but anything else? also what's the se model out there I've been seeing?

I've also seen alot of engine codes going around, what's up with those? As you can tell, I know nothing about honda cars... <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">

Thanks in advance,
Daso

IF ITS THE ONE WITH H22 MOTOR MY BUDDY SAID THAT THOSE
MOTORS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH OIL CONSUMPTION AFTER 50,000KM..

SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE BLOCK HAVING SPECIAL COATED ALUMINUM
SLEEVES.....

Well there very good cars and they all come with a H22 (wich means 2.2 liters with vtec). If your getting a 5th gen prelude, there won't be much to look for because there not that old. Just try to find a stock one (always better than a modified one wich as probably been beaten on) that was not in an accident and just check the oil level and if it smokes when you give it some gas. If it smokes (blue smoke), then it's burning oil and that's not good, just walk away. Check also if the engine knocks. H22s are not that strong of a motor on the crank because of the pour rod to stroke ratio.

thanks alot whitezombie, quite helpful.

and are you looking for anyone at the scrapyard where you work? I live right near it, and would love to get a part time job there.

Yes where looking for someone. Do you know anything about cars (not just technical, can you actually do it). I'll talk to my boss about it but it would be cool for you to come by if you know where it is. If you do come by, just ask for Hugo at the counter and I'll show you around.

Sounds good, when do you work? I'll drop by. And yes I'm not just booksmart. My father was a mechanic and I've learned quite a bit from him. And I do most of my stuff myself as long as I have the tools for the job.

My name's Dominic btw...

Well I work every day this week except on Wednesday so you can come buy anytime you want from 1 pm to 5 pm (if you come in the morning, I wont be there because I have a night job as a sytems analyst so I only work there afternoons). I work there 5 days a week from 1 pm to 5 pm so come by anytime. If you have a little bit of experience, you have a very good chance of getting a job there so just come buy to see me.

I passed on saturday to give my cv. I met Francois, but I'll try and pass by again this week to meet you.

Yes you talked to Francois. He's alright but he's never willing to help anybody out for a job, he only hires friends and family to work for him. Come by to talk to me and I'll present you to my best friend (that's also a boss there) that way, you'll have more chances of being hired.
