Engineless 240

I found a 240 for sale. I plan on swapping in an SR20DET. The original KA is not in the car right now.
I can buy the car for $500 without the KA engine or $700 with the KA engine. Do I need the KA for anything or don't bother with it? If I do need it why?

I was only told that there was no motor in the car but he has it if I want it. I plan on doing a basic swap this winter then start upgrading next winter.
 
If you get the car at 500 and do a basic Sr20 swap (depending on your definition of basic swap) for 4000$ up to 8000$

If no other work is required on the car then you'll have a sweet ride.
