damn my bad. and wow directcanada is really getting their prices down. i should start checking them out more often haha. free shipping over 50$ hmmmmmmmmm.
damn, does not apply to towers :(

but i`ll let it go for 60$ then i guess.

have you checked if it has an OEM sticker on the drive? if so, it only has 1yr warranty by the manufacturer of the laptop.
you can check the warranty info on seagate's website.

if you don't mind PM'ing the serial number of the drive. I'm likely to take it off ya.

It's asus. They don't cheap out like other brands. But sure i'll pm you the s/n right now.

Usually when you take a drive out of the laptop, the duration of the warranty on the drive is the same as the laptop is.

It could be different with asus, but with most brand it is. Like IllusionX said you can just see it on seagates website.

Actually, if it is OEM (pre-installed in a machine), seagate usually offers no warranty from them, and when you even check online, it will clearly states to contact your vendor. This is how the vendors get a super deep discount, but they assume any warranty. However some vendors don't use a large enough volume (or just can't be bothered), and therefore use retail, or generic OEM, in that case the seagate warranty will apply and will show up properly on seagate's web site inquiry.

I know unit's install in DELL laptops are always OEM (it clearly says it on the drive "Dell P/N" along with the seagate one, and there is no warranty from seagate. But I've had HP laptops, which have had normal retail warranties...

Anyhow, bottom line, is if you enter the seagate part number and serial number on the seagate warranty inquiry page, it will tell you when the warranty expires..

The product you identified was sold as a system component....You must contact your place of purchase for any warranty support on these drives.

.... Seagate will provide no warranty :(
