WOW... Very nice price... The Docking station alone is worth about 1/3 of the asking price.

If I didn't already have the exact same model, I would have jumped on it.

BTW: Have you checked online at Dell.ca (using the service tag number) to see how much warranty is left on this unit ? Considering they all come with 3 years, there should still be about 2 years left (since this model is about 1.5years old at most)... Are you the original owner ? Would you be transferring any remaining warranty to new owner ? Let us know.. I have a few friends looking for a nice machine..

Thnx

I got this laptop as a bonus from my job, i don`t know if the warranty is transferable. i will try to contact dell to see if it possible.

warranty should be transferable. Or just supply company name and address to buyer. Should be able to warranty it no problems.

last time i called Dell for support, they wouldn't support us because i couldn't get the company name nor the address right. but it went like a charm when i got it right.

@caraloca:
All Latitude laptops come with 3 years minimum, unlike the inspiron units... The E6400 was introduced and END of 2008, and was still a current model until Q3 of 2010, when the E6410 was introduced to replace it. The e6400 continued shipping well into OCT 2010. So odds are that there is AT least 1 year left, and possibly more. And only recently, Dell recently released the E6420 to replace the E6410, due to the new Sandy Bridge designs they had to keep up with.

Hey, even the warranty on my wife's D630 (which is even older) just expired in February 2011... So I am pretty sure this unit would still be under warranty.

But obviously warranty would only be honored by DELL, if you fill in the warranty transfer form ( https://support.dell.com/support/to...ransfer?c=ca&cs=cabsdt1&l=en&s=bsd&~ck=anavml ), and they often ask for name and info of original owner before making it final (to ensure it was a legal transfer and not a stolen laptop).

this is the first time doing this, i went to the site and i don`t get it . it only ask me to fill the info of the new owner and not the actual owner?

Before they do the actual transfer, they will usually contact you for the previous owner info.

I've done it 3 times, and they've called 2 out of 3 times, so I don't know what the criteria is for them to call.. Maybe depends on the type of previous owner (commercial purchase, lease, personal, etc...).

But I do know for sure that if you call for warranty service, and the laptop is NOT in your name, they will refuse it until you get the transfer done. Makes sense, but it is better to get it straightened out "before" you actually need to use it. hopefully you never do, but you never know, it is just a piece of electronics.

surprised it hasn't sold yet...

Here the warranty on the laptop, as you can see it have a client gold support, which i think if you have a defect piece, they will send it to you the next day and you have 10 business day to send back the defect one or they will charge you.
